Behind The Scenes With Christy For The Healing Event and Women’s Retreat in Sedona
In her best-selling new book, former first lady Michelle Obama shares her go-to strategies for surviving stress and uncertainty. By drawing upon a curated set of practices and principles, Obama believes we can learn to remain steady within flux.
The award-winning author goes on to assert that “everyone possesses an inner flame.” And further, that we each have the ability to “kindle our own light.”
For over twenty years, I have helped thousands of people transform their lives through the purposeful application of consciousness and energy. In other words, I teach people how to manifest their hearts desires through the conscious application of light. “The light we carry” that Michelle Obama refers to is simply the stream of creative energy that animates all things.
This energy stream has been called by many names, including life force, prana, chi- even God, Goddess, and the Divine. But the name we ascribe to this inner light is unimportant. What’s important is honing our ability to summon it and direct it toward the things we desire to nourish in our lives. How receptive or blocked off we are from this stream of life-giving energy determines the quality of all that we manifest into our experience.
Summoning the light you carry is really about clarifying and amplifying all that you desire to say “yes” to. Not only is it unnecessary to push against all the things you don’t desire; it’s actually counterproductive.
A simple analogy may help to illuminate this.
If a radio station is playing a song you don’t like, do you attempt to obliterate that radio broadcast? Of course you don’t. You wisely understand that there are hundreds of different radio broadcasts that you could tune into in any moment. And with a flip of a switch you simply choose the one that most closely matches your desire in that moment.
The art of manifesting your deepest desires is no different.
That which you deeply desire to create in the coming year exists right now in a state of pure potentiality. It’s pure energy; pure light, seeking a tangible form. And to bring it into full-blown manifestation in your life, you need only to nurture this possibility within your energy field.
The experiences you desire to manifest in the coming year are like a broadcast being transmitted through one specific station on your radio dial. And it doesn’t matter if you spent the last 10 years tuned to a different station. You still have the power in any moment to shift your point of focus. And in shifting your focus to what you do want, you summon it powerfully into your experience.
Our desires come to fruition when we possess both mental clarity about what we want and a feeling state of allowing and non-resistance. Allowing, as well as intending, is a vitally important part of the manifestation equation.
At the beginning of each year, lots of people make lists of the desires they intend to bring into fruition. But what we sometimes fail to acknowledge is that the energy of allowing is what draws these new realities into our experience.
Self-care rituals such as lighting candles, relaxing in a warm bath, or otherwise pampering yourself are productive for one reason: They all increase your capacity to allow, and in order to receive, you must be in a state of allowing. Marrying the intensity of desire with the ease of receptivity magnifies the light you carry and speeds the manifestation of your desires.
We can all force ourselves into taking action. But unless our actions are backed up by an internal alignment of our energy, they don’t carry much power. When we’re energetically warmed up for whatever action we’re about to take, the results are far more effective.
So as you contemplate the results you desire to manifest in this new year, extend the fullness of your inner light to each one. An easy way to do this is to simply imagine how it would feel to have created them.
A few minutes of aligning your energy with the outcome you want to create is far more powerful than hours and hours of action taken without this connection. It’s like the difference between using battery power versus plugging in to a live electrical current.
The light you carry is always nourished by and replenished from within. Make alignment with your inner energy source your primary goal, and you become a beacon of light in a sometimes dark world.

The New Year is naturally a time of reinvention, because the ushering in of 2023 brings with it a blank slate. A fresh start. A new opportunity to declare what’s most important and to shape our lives in accordance with those values. In other words, in this New Year, we now have a brand new chance to tap into our full potentiality.
Our full potentiality refers to the limitless, unbounded potential that each of us was born to tap into and express. It’s the domain of pure consciousness, and all possibilities; the wellspring where all creativity is born.
Think of it this way: We all have thousands of possible future selves that we could, through the power of our focus, bring into full expression. With our daily thoughts, perspectives, moods, expectations and actions, we are manifesting either our highest or our lowest potential. And our level of satisfaction or discontent has everything to do with which end of this spectrum we are actualizing.
The question that the personal development movement has been trying to answer for more than 50 years is this: How do we tap into our full potentiality? How do we make manifest here and now all that we have the potential to be?
The old world view told us that the only way to effect such a change is at the physical level. So, for example, if we want to tap our full potential for prosperity, the answer is to put in longer hours at work. If we want to express our full potentiality for health and vitality, the answer is to be meticulous with diet and exercise.
This world view was based on a model of the universe being made up of clumps of matter, so the way to change our reality was by moving molecules around.
But what we now understand is that everything that appears to our five senses as matter is actually 99.999 % energy. And the way to summon energy is not through hard work and careful planning, but through the power of our attention. Where our attention goes, energy flows. And everything material is made up of energy.
So, what is the most direct route for tapping into and expressing your full potential? How can you raise the vibrational frequency of the reality you’re right now creating? You do this by tapping into the field of pure potentiality and drawing to yourself the specific energies you desire to nourish in your life.
Through the power of what you focus your attention on, you literally turn the formless waves of pure potential energy into the molecules and particles that become your 3-dimensional life. And the only difference between a life that sings with clarity and one that is filled with chaos is the lightness or the density of the vibrational tone you’re offering. That’s it.
And so, to tap into your full potential, you simply need to hold that expanded reality as part of your consciousness. Allow yourself to imagine your ideal future so vividly that you begin to live and feel and breathe this expanded reality right here and now.
There is
This universe is unendingly abundant, which means that it has the ability to yield to you whatever experiences you desire. All you need to do to claim the abundance that is your birthright is to align yourself with the energy of your heart’s desires.
So, to tap into your full potential in 2023, allow yourself think about, imagine, and connect with the most beautiful, self-expressed, abundant version of you. Release the versions of yourself that have been before, and fall in love with your potentiality. There is truly nothing that is out of your reach. Whatever you can conceive, you can achieve.

We cannot effectively focus our creative energy in two directions at the same time. In order to manifest an ideal future, we first have to disinvest our energy from the past. And in this energetic, vibrational universe, this one fact is critical to understand:
If you look around your life right now, everything that is manifested in tangible, observable form were once only un-manifested desires.
The home you now live in; the relationships you have; the career that you work at every day… These are realities that once existed only as possibilities that have now popped into 3-dimensional existence. But the moment they manifested, they became past-tense. And the future you desire to create exists on a different vibrational frequency.
As human beings, we are continually in a state of transition. We transition from job to job, from house to house, and from mindset to mindset. We even create different iterations of our own bodies as we move through time. And as such, we serve ourselves greatly by learning how to release the past in order to create a more ideal future.
What’s the most effective way to withdraw – or reclaim – our energy from past manifestations? Contrary to what many believe, the most effective way to release the past is not to complain about it, make it wrong, or otherwise attempt to push it away. In fact, in energetic terms, trying to push away an unwanted reality only brings more of that reality into our experience. The Law of Attraction brings us more of what we focus on, regardless of whether we’re focused on what is wanted or unwanted.
Yes, appreciation is the key that unlocks your ability to create your ideal future. When we’re in a state of appreciation, we’re no longer resisting what is, and our desires manifest more effortlessly.
To shift your energy from resistance to appreciation, consider the handful of situations in your life that you desire to improve this New Year. Then ask yourself these questions:
After you have made your list of all you appreciate about this aspect of your life, read each item over. And as you do, feel the energy of your appreciation as a transformative force. By appreciating all that you have and giving thanks for how it’s served you, you open the door for the Universe to give you more.
Life only moves in one direction, and that direction is forward. Even if you desire to reclaim a feeling from an earlier time in your life, you are never going backwards. Each new moment brings a fresh opportunity to create.
This means you’re never “going back to” an easier time, a happier time, or a skinnier time in your life. Think of it this way instead: From this present moment, where all of your power is, you are choosing to re-activate a vibration of ease, happiness and perfect wellbeing.
To create your ideal future, you do not need to make peace with anything that you’ve lived before. You don’t have to spend anytime excusing or justifying it. You don’t need to make sense of it, and you certainly don’t need to go back and correct all your so-called mistakes. In fact, all of these things keep you dragging that past energy into the present and future. All you need to do is focus on where you now are and where you now desire to be. Period. Every less-than-ideal reality you have ever lived is the launching point for where you’re headed next.
It’s easy to think more about what we don’t want than about what we do. With our language, we affirm things such as, “I want to be out of debt.” “I want this person to stop bothering me.” Or, “I want to lose 10 pounds.”
Statements like these, while well-intentioned, place our creative focus in an unhelpful direction. To manifest your ideal future this New Year, think instead of the energies and experiences you desire to add to your life.
For example, “I want this person to stop bothering me,” becomes “I’m attracting fun, mutually respectful people into my life.” “I want to lose 10 pounds,” becomes “I love the feeling of lightness and freedom in my body.”
Yes, there is momentum to the past, and yes, we all learn what we want by identifying what we don’t want. But there is no other moment that is more powerful than the moment you’re living right now.
In this moment, you have the power of choice and free will. You can choose to lament all that hasn’t worked out yet, or you can see yourself as the powerful creative being you truly are. In each moment, you are born anew, with more clarity and wisdom to align yourself with all that you desire.

What does mastering your mind have to do with creating miracles?
In a word, everything!
Mastery is defined as a state of control or superiority over something or someone. When we have mastery over our minds, we understand them as the powerful focusing mechanisms they are designed to be. This means we understand that we are the ones who decide where and how to direct the powerful focus of our attention. And what we focus upon, we summon creative energy toward, and our desires unfold seamlessly – almost miraculously.
In fact, many times, we feel enslaved by them.
What are the symptoms of an un-mastered mind?
An un-mastered mind is one that has not yet discovered the peace of meditation, or the power of deliberate intent. Until we learn to master our minds, we feel raw and ragged, at the mercy of whatever is happening around us.
What’s the most productive thing we can do when we realize we’re focusing our minds on a reality we don’t want to create? When we’re dwelling on the absence of something we desire, rather than looking for evidence of its unfolding? The wisest action we can take in moments like these is to focus our minds more generally, and less on the specifics.
Your mind is like a powerful locomotive, barreling down one of an infinite number of tracks. And anytime the train of thought you’ve jumped aboard induces more anxiety than hopefulness, it’s time to slow the train down.
The more specifically you focus on any subject, the more creative energy you summon toward it. This is great news when you’re focused on possibility, on appreciation, or on abundance. But whenever a train of thought is leading you to unwanted destinations, you can master your mind by going general.
To do this, simply remind yourself of the very general, universal principles of well-being that abound in this universe. Say things to yourself such as, “Things always have a way of working out.” “I’ve found my way out of tight spots like this before.” Or, “This reality is just an out-picturing of my current energy flow. As I change my energy, everything changes.”
Once the negative train of thought has rolled to a stop, you can choose a new track and begin building positive momentum.
The secret to creating miracles is actually very simple: Acknowledge the fact that you are an abundant being living in an infinitely abundant universe. Then deliberately look for evidence of your abundance as often, and with as much genuine appreciation, as you possibly can.
Once you’re aware of something that you desire – such as more money or love in your life – you’re presented with a fundamental choice. You can use the power of your mind to focus on the lack of your desire, or you can focus on its presence. An undisciplined mind can only see what currently is. It sees only the absence of what is wanted, and consequently, we feel deprived, angry, or anxious.
Mastering your mind is using the power of your own free will to generate the sensation of already having what you desire. It’s deliberately flipping your own internal switch anytime you’re dwelling on what’s missing, and appreciating all that you already have. It’s deciding that you are bigger and more powerful than any circumstance you find yourself in. Mastering your mind gives you the confidence that whatever reality you direct your focus toward will expand, blossom and become more.
Mastering your mind is not about isolating yourself away from any situation that has the potential to throw you off balance. Instead, it’s knowing that you are resilient enough to bounce back from any negative momentum and to re-create again and again.
Yes, there are billions of people in the world. And yes, many of them are generating a powerful stream of negative momentum. There are as many different vibrations coursing through the airwaves of our planet as there are people inhabiting it. But this need not intimidate or overwhelm you because you and you alone have the power to tune your own personal vibration.
You are the only one who can choose to think a particular thought. And you are the one with the power to think of a different thought at any time. You are the only one who can mentally reach beyond what you’re living to envision a brighter reality.
Approach the coming New Year with a single determination: to become a more deliberate master of your own mind. With this one powerful resolution, you will create miracles.

There is no better time to break the cycle of procrastination than the days leading up to a New Year. And just in case you’re unsure about how deeply this destructive pattern impacts your life, take a moment to reflect back on 2022.
Procrastination is more than an unwanted behavior or a bad habit. It reflects an energetic blockage within ourselves that prevents us from receiving all the ease and abundance we deserve. Procrastination is an internal vice we unconsciously return to because we’ve become accustomed to patterns of drama and chaos.
To break the cycle of procrastination, we need to understand it, first and foremost, as an obstruction of energy. By approaching it in terms of energy, we begin to release the logjam and experience the joy of effortlessly fulfilling our desires.
As human beings, we are born from desire, and we are born to manifest the desires that are born within us.
The Source Energy that creates all things moves through each one of us in a unique and beautiful way. And as a result of all that we’ve lived, we naturally give birth to new desires. In fact, we couldn’t stop this natural life cycle even if we tried.
When our personal energy field is aligned and unobstructed, we easily receive these impulses from Source. We acknowledge the changes we desire to make, and we’re inspired to get our hands in the clay and begin making them. Making our hearts desires manifest on earth is one of the most joyful aspects of our human experience.
But what happens when the communication stream between us and Source Energy is blocked or interrupted? What if our past experiences have caused us to believe we’re unworthy? Or we’re so occupied with surviving that we can’t even acknowledge the places where desire is trying to lead us? These energy imbalances are at the root of procrastination.
Energy misalignment looks different for everyone. Maybe you’re prone to numbing out or denying your truth until you can literally no longer ignore it. Or you might succumb to “analysis paralysis” and spend hours in the planning stages of making a change. And if you’re someone who grew up in a chaotic environment, you may spiral pretty easily into guilt and overwhelm.
However procrastination manifests in your life, awareness is the first step to breaking this cycle. Then instead of beating yourself up about it, do your best to make peace with wherever you are. You can do this by saying things to yourself such as:
What we resist persists. Trying to push through resistance with sheer willpower almost always leaves us in a deeper rut. You can break the cycle of procrastination by welcoming the resistant energy within you and allowing it to move.
Give yourself permission to walk away from the task at hand for a moment. Change the environment you’re in and give your senses new impressions to take in. Put on music that engages or inspires you. Bring your awareness to your breath, and let out an audible sound that embodies the energy of procrastination.
Your body and mind are intimately connected in an ongoing feedback loop. Whatever you do to release resistance in one will automatically improve the flow of the other. And when the energy in your body is circulating freely, your mind and emotions will follow suit.
Remember that our addiction to drama and chaos is a learned response. Fulfilling our desires with grace and ease is what is natural to us.
Allow yourself to recall times in your life when you were in a state of grace and flow. You can envision this as being swept up on the wave of Source energy, and feeling perfectly situated within its current.
How does it feel when ideas come easily to you? What is it like to be totally engaged with the task at hand? Have you ever gotten so absorbed with what you’re doing that you lose track of time? This is not an elusive state, but a sign of unobstructed energy within you.
Envision yourself as having already completed the action you’re putting off, and breathe into that feeling. When you shift your energy, you automatically break the cycle of procrastination.
