What’s the secret to pulling yourself out of a low mood or a downward thought spiral? Manifestation Method #1: Get clear about what it is you want.
Anytime you find yourself in a bad mood or slump, it’s because you’re acutely aware of something you don’t want. For example, if you’re in an unsatisfying relationship, you’re well aware that you don’t want to feel ignored or discounted. If you don’t have as much money as you want or need, you clear you no longer want to feel anxious or deprived. If you’re carrying more weight than looks or feels good to you, you know for sure that you no longer want to feel heavy.
But beneath all of these “don’t wants,” lies a burning desire about what you do want. And so, the first, most essential manifestation method is to powerfully and clearly identify this desire.
For example, if you’re feeling unsatisfied in your relationship, the first step is to ask yourself how you’d like to feel instead. When you conjure your idea of a perfect relationship, how do you imagine yourself feeling? Would you feel seen? Understood? Important? Special?
You want to uncover the YES that is buried underneath your “No’s.” In any area where you’re unhappy, go beyond the awareness of what you don’t want, to clarify what you do.
Manifestation Method #2: Actively invite the energy of your “yes” into your life.
Without realizing it, most of us direct the majority of our attention to noticing, complaining about, or dwelling in what’s unwanted. Attention is our most precious, valuable resource. Whatever we give our attention to, we nourish, strengthen, and invite into our experience.
So what happens when the lion’s share of your attention is focused on what’s missing, or what’s not quite right? You’re using your most precious resource to miscreate rather than to create on purpose. You’re applying the manifestation method of summoning the powerful Law of Attraction, but using it against yourself, not for your benefit.
To turn the tide of this unwanted momentum, you’re going to have to summon your imagination.
Ask yourself: If this aspect of my life were unfolding exactly how I desire, what would that look and feel like? And more importantly, how would I look and feel? What thoughts would I offer about this situation? What expectations would I hold and what mood or energy would I consistently bring to this aspect of my life?
Manifesting your desires is similar to throwing a great dinner party.
In applying this second manifestation method, you’ll begin to notice that the power really is in your hands. You may not have control over what other people say or do, but you always have control over your response. This means you have the ability to decide in advance how you want to show up for every meaningful encounter. Do you want to drag the same old energy with you into each new moment? Or will you choose to show up embodying the energy of your desire?
Chances are, you’re already applying this manifestation method in your life. Anytime you intend a positive outcome ahead of time, you’re deliberately improving your mood. Prior to hosting a dinner party, for example, you align your mood with the fun you know will be had; the deliciousness of the company. And then, from your established energetic stance of eager anticipation and connection, you invite others in.
The technique for manifesting anything you desire works in the exact same way. First, you put yourself in the internal state of having already manifested what you want and allow that energy to dominate.
Manifestation Method #3: Allow the energy of what you desire to guide your choices.
Imagine for a moment that you’ve already manifested the love of your life or the prosperity you seek. And now notice, how would that manifestation alter your daily choices?
Would the presence of that desired reality change the way you care for yourself? Would it cause you to make any adjustments in your daily routine? Are there things you would do – and things you would definitely not do – if you were already living your desire?
Most of the world is reacting to life and allowing the conditions that surround them to influence their behavior. For example, if you’re in a less-than-prosperous financial state, your sense of overwhelm may cause you to neglect your bills. But what if you knew that a huge stream of abundance was on the verge of coming into your life? That knowledge would inspire you to an entirely different set of actions.
Choose to stop being someone who needs positive conditions to justify being in a positive mood! Decide instead to be someone who’s clear about what you desire, and allow the energy of that desire to guide you. These 3 manifestation methods combine to shift your point of attraction. As you give more focus to what is wanted, rather than to what isn’t, the fulcrum tips and your desires can come more quickly to fruition.
