becoming aware

Your degree of awareness – and your degree of mastery in consciously directing your awareness – determines the speed of your manifestations.   And by becoming aware of your energy before you take action, you can attract success in every aspect of your life.

The first step is to become aware of the direction of your chronic thoughts.

Imagine you’re a lawyer or a private detective and begin to notice the typical direction of your most common thoughts.

You’ll likely discover that on some subjects, your thoughts flow pretty naturally to appreciation and positive expectation.  But on some other subjects that you experience as more difficult, your thoughts easily spiral into anxiety or frustration.  Becoming aware of the habitual direction of your thoughts is the first vital step to changing your point of attraction.

Begin a daily practice of observing the direction that your thoughts typically flow.  When do they most naturally lean toward the positive?  And in what situations or interactions do they start to take a less beneficial turn?

Again, becoming aware of your usual patterns of thoughts is so incredibly helpful.  A good fisherman is an avid student of weather patterns and tides.  And in the same way, awareness of your own thought currents is key to successfully navigating them.

And when you become aware that your thought currents are leading you in an unwanted direction, don’t panic.  Simply pause, close your eyes, and breathe.

Recognize that like the ocean tides, our thoughts are constantly shifting and changing.  And by bringing awareness to this dynamic process, you open up new channels and pathways.

It may help to imagine that you are sitting on the bank of a river watching your thoughts float by.  You don’t need to climb aboard every boat that passes by.  Just remain a witness to them.  And when you encounter a thought that diminishes your mood, know that you don’t need to fight against it.

Rather than arguing with negative thoughts, or trying to stop thinking them, just acknowledge them and permit them to move on.  Imagine saying to them, “Thank you for that perspective!  I’m headed in a different direction, but I wish you well along your way.”  Unless we actively rail against them, negative thoughts have a way of dissolving all on their own.

The second dimension of your being to become aware of is your habitual or chronic feelings.

When we’re unaware of the momentum of our thoughts, we find ourselves in bad-feeling emotional states without knowing how we got there.  But with awareness, you can interrupt this negative feedback loop and regain control over your point of attraction.

Your moment-by-moment feeling states exist at a deeper dimension of your consciousness than your thoughts, which are more surface.  So to become aware of them, you can again use your breath – but this time to tune into what’s happening in your body.

Do you feel a sensation of lightness, openness and ease, or of tightness and contraction?  Does your breath move fully and fluidly, or does it seem to get blocked in your stomach, chest, or throat?  Your body keeps perfect score of your emotional states. This means you can always tune in to your body to become more aware of what’s happening with you emotionally.

When you notice resistance or blockage in your emotional body, know this is temporary and no cause for alarm.

Emotions are simply energy in motion.  And like water moving through a stream, your emotions are always flowing and changing.  By becoming aware of this flow, you can gradually guide the current into a better feeling direction.

You’ll find it helps to remember times of greater ease, or to call forth memories or imaginings that evoke happiness and joy.  Then once you’ve used your awareness to settle the waters of your emotions, consider how you’d like to feel.

What is the bottom line, essential emotional state you are reaching for in this moment?  Is it one of soothing, of relaxation, of clarity or of inspiration?   With your awareness and intention, you can begin to conjure these vibrational states on purpose.  And once you notice that the tide of your emotional state has begun to shift, do everything you can to keep that new momentum going!

Conjure thoughts and memories that enhance and sustain your new point of attraction.  Send appreciation to yourself for becoming more aware of your vibration.  Rest in a meditative, aware state until this new frequency feels stable and solid.  Once you feel grounded in this higher vibration, you’re ready to attend to the 3rd dimension of your consciousness.

The third dimension of your being to become aware of is the energy that underlies your actions.

Most people act automatically and reflexively, with little regard for the energy behind their actions.   But unless you become aware of what’s driving you to act, your actions may actually take you out of alignment with your desires.

As awareness sets every manifestation into motion, action is the culmination of that initial awareness.  So, take some time to consider your thoughts, your mood, and your current point of attraction – before you act.

Actions that are not backed up by energetic alignment scatter our energy and waste our resources.  But actions that are inspired by an alignment in thought, mood and frequency produce effortlessly wonderful results.

The bottom line…

The next time you’re feeling off-balance, remember these 3 points of awareness.   Notice your chronic thoughts and allow the unbeneficial ones to simply pass you by.  Drop into your body and heart and notice how you’re feeling.  Breathe into the essence of what you desire.  Find the flow of that energy and allow it to build momentum.  And when all of this awareness culminates in a desire to act, do so with confidence and positive expectation!

Becoming aware of these 3 levels of your being is the key to manifesting your desires in all areas of your life.
