Manifestation Affirmations

By now you understand that your thoughts, beliefs, attitudes, and expectations matter. A lot.  Because what you contemplate in the privacy of your own heart and mind transmits a vibration that is received by everything around you.  In a very real sense, with every word you speak and every thought you think, you are repeating a manifestation affirmation.

The problem with most people is, they are unknowingly repeating manifestation affirmations that affirm outcomes they don’t actually want to create.  Complaining is a manifestation affirmation. So is entertaining worrisome or paranoid thoughts.  These actually undermine the very abundance you’re trying to let in.

Instead, use manifestation affirmations to focus on the feeling of abundance. Also, on the qualities that abundance will make available to you.  Ponder the emotions and experiences you’ll have greater access to in the presence of abundance.  When you focus on the underlying “why” that is inspiring your desire for greater abundance, you are focused on what you want.  And you are using a manifestation affirmation to your benefit rather than your detriment.

And, if you’re focused on the fact that you don’t yet have something you want, you’re actually focused in lack. Therefore, you’ll continue to create the same kinds of lack-based situations, people, events and circumstances that you have right now. This applies to whatever you feel you are lacking. Whether it’s a lack of money, support, love, fun, or anything else you might want. Your previous thoughts and beliefs created where you are today. Unless you deliberately change those thoughts and beliefs, you will continue to create more of the same.

Using affirmations is a powerful way to raise your vibration and purify the magnetic signal you are sending out.  Here are 5 principles to follow to create manifestation affirmations that support you in creating what you desire:

Principle #1:  Manifestation affirmations must be personal, and stated in the present tense.

I recommend beginning every manifestation affirmation with the powerful words, “I am.”  This acknowledges, in the present tense, the improved reality that is already in the process of coming into being.  For example, “I am abundant,” “I am successful,” “I am creative,” “I am working in a career that I love.”

Principle #2:  Your affirmations must be positive.

Make sure your statements are affirming what you want to create, not railing against what you want to move away from!  Remember that energy flows where your attention goes.  Use your manifestation affirmations to energize, magnetize and state what it is you do want; not what you don’t want.

Principle #3:  Your manifestation affirmations must be specific.

The more specifically you are focused on any intended outcome, the more creative energy you summon toward that end.

For example, instead of affirming, “I make a lot of money,” it’s more powerful to affirm, “I make X dollars a year.”  Specificity is important because each of us has a different definition for what constitutes “a lot” of money.  What does “a lot” of money mean to you?  What specifically do you want to create?  Affirm it with as much specificity as you can.

Principle #4:  Your affirmations must be believable.

The purpose of affirmations is to generate a shift in your energy. Saying them should light you up, energize you, and get your creative juices flowing.  The perfect affirmation will shift your comfort zone to a new and exciting place, but won’t evoke fear or doubt.

Don’t set your aim so high that you can’t imagine or accept the outcome you want to accomplish.  For example, affirming “I have a million dollars in the bank” if you’re currently in debt will likely trigger doubt and disbelief.  In this case, the affirmation is actually working against you rather than for you.  Play around with the wording of each of your affirmations until thinking or speaking it evokes excitement and positive expectation.

Principle #5: Remember that the universe responds to your energy, not to your words.

Your manifestation affirmation is simply a tool for creating a shift in your energy.  It will help you to embrace the sensation of what it feels like have, be or do what you are now affirming.  This shift in energy is what energizes and magnetizes your desires to you. The words are just the vehicle for starting this process.

As you speak each of your manifestation affirmations, pay attention to the sensations that are triggered within you.  And use the words to leapfrog into the experience of already living the reality you desire to create.  Another way of saying this is to first speak the affirmation, and then step into the feeling place of owning that affirmation.  Spend time imagining, reflecting, and feeling what’s like to be abundant, creative, successful – or whatever specific outcome you desire.
