Your emotions are an aspect of your ego, and they carry much energy. They act to guide you toward things you love and away from those things that you do not love. Your emotional body is very fluid. It takes on many different colorings and shades and qualities, depending upon the energy you are around—until you are able to guide the emotional body from a higher level of your being.
There is joy that comes from contact with your Divine Self. It arises naturally out of a state of peace and harmony. It is joy that comes from a feeling of flow, from knowing that you are exactly where you are supposed to be, doing exactly what you are meant to do.
As the fogs and mists of emotions begin to dissolve in the light of your Divine Self, a pathway opens up that leads to many states of higher consciousness, states that are only possible with a quiet, flowing, and peaceful emotional body. As you transform your emotions, you open up your ability to experience new, expanded states of awareness.
You do not have to spend a lot of time doing this meditation; in fact it is very effective to have frequent ten or twenty second meditation periods during the day. Even pausing briefly during a busy day to get quiet and ask for energy or guidance is a wonderful way to deepen contact with your Divine Self.
1. Start by sitting quietly. Set your intention to make contact with your Divine Self, to open to It and to receive Its energy, love, inspiration, and all the transformation, awareness, and gifts of consciousness It is always offering you.
2. Let go of any thoughts, and imagine that you are the Divine Self of infinite intelligence, unconditional love, and all knowing wisdom, looking out through your eyes. Sense the “I” within you that is always present, that which is pure awareness.
3. Let your mind come completely to rest, to a state of inner stillness, with nothing to do or think about, even if just for a moment. Let go of any thoughts about the outer world and go within, asking for your Divine Self to draw you into Itself.
4. You can make the connection to your Divine Self even stronger by having the intention to release any thoughts or beliefs that may be an obstacle to contacting your Divine Self or to receiving Its gifts.
5. If you would like, ask for guidance, an insight, or an answer as you enter into the silence.
6. It is in moments of silence that the Divine Self can impart to you as much of Its wisdom, power, and love that you can receive. Notice what new thoughts you have after these moments of silence, calling upon your Divine Self. Doing this brings more power, love, wisdom, guidance, abundance, and spiritual vision.
7. Afterward, you may receive an inner message, and it is fine if this feels like you giving yourself a message. Contact may come through a sense of energy, peace, an inner knowingness, an answer, a deeper breath, or in many other ways. It is fine if you do not have any response you can feel or identify; know that contact has been made simply through your intention to make contact. With this, some insight, extra energy, or inspiration has been imparted to you that will unfold at the perfect time.
In this section I have some great resources for you. My intention is to provide you with these resources so that you can continue the journey to empowerment. Some of them may resonate with you, and others may not. It is like being at a buffet . . . just take what you like and leave the rest. Enjoy!

Thoughts are Things
I am in my own growth program right now (continuing to learn and expand within myself) and as part of the work, I needed to create a video on Thoughts Are Things. I thought I would share this with my family this month instead of creating an article for the newsletter. I hope you enjoy it.
Shifting from Lack to Abundance
1. Get quiet, be still and go within yourself.
2. Repeat over and over several times, “I am the source of my abundance.”
3. Pay attention to your feelings, thoughts and intentions and, wherever you are feeling resistance or negativity, stop and repeat that affirmation. You can also say to yourself, “I am worthy. I am important. I am significant.”
4. Link with the unlimited abundance of your soul or higher self, by opening your connection to the higher forces (they are there, wanting to serve you).
5. Express and radiate your higher qualities of inner peace, joy, love, well-being and aliveness, and you become the source of your abundance.
Remember, your thoughts have real substance. Imagine your thoughts and feelings as “magnets.” These “magnets” go out into the world and attract the substances that match them, and they duplicate themselves into form. Your thoughts set up the model of what is to be created, and your emotions energize your thoughts and propel them from your inner world to your outer world. The stronger your emotions are, the more rapidly you create what you are thinking about. Your intent acts to direct your thoughts and emotions, maintaining a steady focus on what you want until you receive it.
Feeling Good: The “Secret” to Manifesting Anything You Want
What does feeling good (i.e., happy, secure, loved, etc.) have to do with the level of success you produce – in your work, with friends, or at school? I mean, as long as you’re taking the actions you know will move you forward, why should it matter if you’re floating through the day or barely slogging through it?
It might surprise you to realize that the way we feel in the privacy of our own inner world has everything to do with the results we produce in our outer world. This is because everything in the universe – including ourselves – is made up of energy, and all energy resonates at a particular rate of speed, or vibration. Bad-feeling emotions – such as anger, frustration, anxiety, guilt and blame – vibrate at a lower, slower rate than good-feeling emotions like love, optimism and appreciation.
Our moods, feelings and dominant emotions – as well as our thoughts, beliefs and, of course, our words and actions – all generate vibrations that are registered by everyone and everything that comes into contact with us. If you doubt this, pay attention the next time you enter a room where people have just been fighting, and compare it to how you feel in a place where people have been laughing, praying, dancing, or meditating. One vibration is soothing and attractive; the other repels and causes our energy field to contract. The “secret” to magnetizing any experience you want to manifest in your life is to make sure the vibrations you are sending out are in energetic alignment with that particular outcome.
Here are three practical steps you can take to deliberately align your vibration to more precisely attract the results you want:
Step One: Look for Things to Appreciate
Step Two: Let Go of Joy-Robbers
After complaining for weeks about being sore after her daily workouts, a friend of mine finally broke down and bought an expensive, well-fitting pair of running shoes. The difference she felt was incredible, and only after wearing her new shoes did she realize that she had literally run her old one ones into the ground. It sounds too simple to be true, but releasing this one joy-robbing experience made a huge difference in her well being – and therefore in her power to magnetize.
Step Three: Act as if
Most of us have what I call an “if/then” relationship to feeling good. We think that if we turn in a stellar report; if we earn a certain amount of money; if we make a good impression with the person we just met, then feeling good will be our reward. But there is absolutely no reason to postpone your innate right to feel good to some future time or situation – you can choose to feel good right now. And when you do, you become absolutely irresistible to success.
Here is a list of words and phrases that need to be changed in our vocabulary.
“Should”: Keeps us stuck in roles and does not give us freedom in that we have choices. When we say “should” to ourselves and others, it is very limiting and causes us to beat up ourselves or others for something we have no control over in the now. We are shaming for the past.
“I can’t afford it”: This is very limiting and never feels good. As a matter of fact, anytime you say “can’t,” it limits the true Divine potential of who you are and the pure potentiality that exists in the universe. And be careful what you say, because what you put out in the universe as a vibration will manifest. So if you say, “I can’t afford it,” that will be your reality. Instead say, “I choose not to purchase that at this time.”
“Try”: There is no way to try to do anything. As Yoda said in Empire Strikes Back, “Do or do not. There is no try.” And when you try to do something, a very non-committal energy goes out into the universe. Trying to do something carries a very different vibration than doing it.
“Have to”: This is also a form of “should.” Instead of focusing on the things you have to do, change it to “I get to.” I get to pick up my amazing kids from school. I get to clean my house that gives me shelter. “I get to” is so much more empowering than “I have to.” Just switching these phrases will give you a much better feeling and perspective and will determine what you manifest in your life.
“I can’t wait”: This is coming from a lack perspective; it feels very different when you say, “I am looking forward to…”
Everything is energy, and all energy carries a vibration. When we are deliberately manifesting our lives, these words and phrases can lower our vibrations without our even knowing it.
Start changing how you say things and feel the difference inside of yourself.
There is an old saying that small hinges open big doors. Small changes in words and phrases make a big difference in what we create.
In the beginning there is the word. In the beginning of all creation it starts with a word—even in the privacy of your own mind.
What words will you choose today?
Believe me I know what it is like to have a feeling of discontentment in my life.
As an example, I know what it feels like to have a difficult financial situation. I remember the feeling of wanting to work in alignment with the universal laws and feel what I wanted instead of what my reality was and have credit card companies calling and demanding to know when I was going to make a payment. Or the feeling of not knowing how I was going to pay a bill that needed to be paid. It was one of the worst experiences of my life. Each time it knocked me off, and I would go back into the reality of my situation.
These were actually very beautiful times in the eyes of my soul, because it was during those desperate times that I would get on my knees and pray to God to help me. Money is a symbol to go back to God. So is any other situation that you are both unhappy AND happy with in your life.
Everything is an opportunity to connect with God. And we as humans seem to do this more intensely when we need help.
At these times, when we are in the midst of what we really don’t want, we have to pivot and focus on what we do want, or we will continue to create more of the same.
God/energy/Source/Universe/Creator/Divine Intelligence—it doesn’t matter what you call it—it does its part, but we also need to do our part.
We are co-creating with this invisible and great Soul of the World. And we need to direct, decide and move in the direction of what we do want.
I would like to offer you a different perspective on those places where you desire, where you have that longing for your life to be different; those areas where you are so tired of having that tension that you wish things to be different.
Take an area of your life where you are dissatisfied, to whatever degree, from mildly annoyed to deeply anxious and fearful, and shift your perspective that this was a gift for you.
The giver of this situation (the Universe) has gifted you with an opportunity to learn about yourself. This is an opportunity to become more aware and conscious about how you think, believe and therefore vibrate in this particular area of your life. This situation was not given to you to punish you in anyway. And it is very temporary, as is everything in the physical universe we live in. If it was created, it can be re-created. If it has brought you tension and clarity for a different way of being, then you have the ability to create something different.
So do this and see how your life begins to change.
Remember, you are always in relationship with everything in the Universe. That includes everything that is outside of you, like people, money, food, traffic, and so on. AND the relationship always starts inside of you first. Everything is ENERGY. 🙂
